How unlimited is “unlimited” at HostGator
We all know that nothing is unlimited, but how unlimited is HostGator’s “unlimited“? Well, unlike some other web hosts HostGator won’t make any problems if your site uses lot of space or bandwidth. A friend of mine was using 400 GB of web space, and burning over 125GB of bandwidth with Hatchling account without any problems. They mostly care about the system load, and this can generated by lots or slow executing MySQL queries, badly written scripts. There are also some thing called “inode limit“. Inode is actually any file or email or folder. If you host over 50,000 inodes (or your site is bigger than 20GB) your site will be removed from auto-backups, and if you go over 250,000 inodes you will be warned and if no action is taken your account might get suspended. There is also a “email limit” allowing you to send not more than 500 emails per hour. Both limitations are natural and normal and 99.9% of users will not have any problems with them, but it’s actually good thing to know. However if you need more than “unlimited” checkout HostGator reseller hosting, that provides better quality hosting service.

Conclusion (based om my personal experience)
I’ve been customer of HostGator for since Nov 2005.
